Ideas from Thoreau
Ideas from Thoreau. The row THOREaU.
Thoreaus message about time and eternity. We drink from eternity not a stream...
I also thought of the passage from the writer who said that doing meditation is a refuge not a test. Certainly the Thoreau's poem is about drinking in the stream of eternity, a metaphor for meditation and meditation as a refuge.
In my thinking I also wanted to talk about my poem the Guru Gurumph.

The Guru Gurumphh
Cover to Cover
Wordbound.
Quoting from men I never knew.
Direction, purpose and mission
Until excess plunges me into
Old patterns of control.
Men's work, too!
Quoting from men I know,
I herald those words
"Yeah, I got it!"
Then I confront the mismatch between
Words and my feelings.
I control and scream words at those I love,
Old patterns of control.
Cover to cover.
Wordbound.
Until I let your love in.
Until I let my love in.
