Many of us practice, because we feel a need to change.
And of course, Zen practice does affect us – as persons, as individuals. But actually, it’s not accurate to say that 'we‘ change: What changes is 'our here', what ‚here' feels like. We can learn to shift our perceptions, and the assumptions that shape those perceptions – and then, an 'ordinary here' can turn into the wonders and mysteries of existence itself.
