Matthieu Ricard - attente chronique - 'Waiting' as a chronic minds-state challenge.

Of course, all states are conditioned, and so we often set up conditions where there are states of waiting, and of pregnant expectations. When we notice we are 'waiting', we smile, take refuge and attempt to engender an attitude of completion, acceptance and gratitude for what is, not for what might be.

Isn't it more accurate to say there will always be experiences of the emotions of Hope and of fear, of course.  And these are is the compost this is the mud in which we Give birth to Liberation.

it's part of the practice to notice these things and then notice and find Refuge from them...from these momentary states.

I don't think the Rinpoche is saying we will always be in a state Chronic waiting Nor will we ever find our way to a permanent state of no waiting . Rather we need to appreciate that - When we can discern  we are in a moment of waiting, seeking, expecting, that we can observe our waiting and expectation, and chronic and tenacious dissatisfaction that is sourced in this 'waiting.'  and is the conditioned state of suffering.
