"He [Shantideva] asks why be happy when people praise me, or unhappy when they condemn me, since there'll always be those with other opinions. Nevertheless, these worldly concerns are the very things we constantly strive to get or get away from. The shenpa tug of want and don't want keeps us spinning in samsara."
