Be Kind
Nobody has done anything to us—we have done it to ourselves. We are heirs to our karma. We are also masters of our destiny, because with a bit of care we can eliminate harmful acts, which produce painful results, and practice positive or kind acts, which produce happiness. This is why the Buddha emphasized the importance of ethical and altruistic behavior: it leads to happiness. The most important thing in all the world is to be kind.
