  1. BUDDHA; Cultivate gratitude on the path to awakening.
    1.     Abandon jugement, discrimination, needyness, anger, blaming
  2. Cultivate the good, states of heart: generosity, lovingindness, equanimity
    1. Appreciate 'this breath'...just being here together.
    2. Appreciating what we have, grateful for this moment, this breath, this body...
  3. Taking refuge in the 'Truth'.  This is the refuge of the present moment...very secure supports.
    1. Gratitude ...taking refuge in the way things are...not obsessing about what we don't have...looking at life as it is....a practice of 'letting go'.  Resting in what we have.
  4. Two kinds of thought
    1. Bikkhus: whatever a practitioner often thinks about will become the inclination of your mind.
    2. placing attention on lovingkindness and gratitude, generosity or towards complaining, anger, blame
  5. Gratitude helps us return to open spaciousness...opening us to joy, to wonder, to awe
